The effect of car sharing in Bergen

The municipality of Bergen at the Urban Environment Agency (BME) wanted to investigate the effect of car sharing in Bergen. The survey assessed the effect that car sharing can have on city life, trade, street use and changes in travel habits in Bergen, and in that way be included as an important mobility tool for a good and attractive urban development. At the same time, it was also asked what role car sharing can have in a socially equalizing perspective. An investigation was carried out into today's travel habits and car use, as well as which vehicle composition can best achieve the target in terms of reduced private driving. The analysis will be used to communicate the effect car sharing has for Bergen to the city's residents, as well as to strengthen the expertise base on the effect of car sharing among the professional services at the client.
