The aim of the project is to analyze the genomic and transcriptomic modifications in the plant pathogenic bacteria Ralstonia solanacearum during experimental host adaptation. Experimentally evolved clones were generated by serial passage experiments of the GMI1000 strain on tomato Hawaii plant during 300 generations. Using both the Illumina and PacBio SMRT sequencing technologies, the genomic sequences and transcriptomes of ten experimentally evolved clones will be compared to the genome and transcriptome of the GMI1000 ancestral clone.
