THE INTEGRATION OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE TEACHING: MODERN APPROACHES AND EDUCATIONAL IMPACT

The rapid development of Information Technology (IT) has significantly transformed educational systems worldwide, particularly in the field of English Language Teaching (ELT). Traditional teaching methods, which were primarily teacher-centered and textbook-based, are increasingly being replaced or supported by technology-enhanced approaches. This integration has created new opportunities for language learners by providing access to authentic materials, interactive learning platforms, and real-time communication tools. This article explores the role of Information Technology in English language teaching, focusing on its impact on the development of language skills, including listening, speaking, reading, and writing. It also examines the advantages and challenges of integrating digital tools into language education. Furthermore, the study highlights the changing role of teachers in technology-enhanced learning environments and discusses future trends such as artificial intelligence and virtual reality in language education. The findings suggest that the integration of IT in ELT improves learner motivation, increases accessibility to resources, and enhances communicative competence.
