VPRS 9889 Record Cards of Public Servants

Under the provisions of the Public Service Act, the Public Service Board (VA 886) was required to keep a record of all officers and employees in the public service, their length of service, salaries and wages and other employment details.This series consists of Record Cards, which document an officers or employees employment history.The information recorded includes,Name of the officer or employeeName of the Department and the BranchDate of birthDate of appointmentDesignation, Salary, Certificate No.File reference number,Other information (date of resignation, date of permanent appointment, date of death, etc).These cards were referenced by inspectors from the Boards Staffing and Classification Section, staff of the Records Section and others requiring information for compiling biographies.
