Dendrobium officinale Transcriptome or Gene expression

Dendrobium plants have been known well as traditional Chinese herbal medicine. Bibenzyls as the main active compounds in Dendrobium officinale are engaged in drug making. In this study, total RNA was isolated from the sampled root of D. officinale with MeJA (0.5mM) as the treatment group after 24 hours and another set with ethanol and water as the control group. To our knowledge, this study is the first report focused on identifying putative genes associated with the bibenzyls biosynthesis in Dendrobium plants, as well as provide new insights for future study of the molecular mechanisms of the genes involved in bibenzyl biosynthesis.
