资源简介:
This dataset contains data collected during laboratory-scale experiments where the capacity of clams (Asian clam, Corbicula fluminea) to remove contaminants from wastewater was assessed. Nine contaminants were tested singly in synthetic effluents, dosed at two concentrations: caffeine, carbamazepine, diclofenac, fluoxetine, ibuprofen, metformin, naproxen paracetamol and sulfamethoxazole. Data from sorption experiments using the clam (C. fluminea) shells are additionally provided, allowing to assess whether the observed removal in the biofiltration experiment could be partially attributed to adsorption or only to biofiltration. The dataset comprises: raw and minimally processed data concerning the quantifications of waterborne concentrations of the tested chemicals (two .csv files); extended metadata information concerning experimental conditions, analytic details and data processing procedures (Readme.txt). This dataset was produced within the scope of Task 1.4 in work package 1 of the EU project NYMPHE, aiming at characterizing the ability of bivalves as bioremediation agents to address wastewater contaminated with micropollutants such as pharmaceuticals and stimulants. Within the project, the data feeds the assembly work foreseen in WP2 and the pilot testing in WP4. Outside the project, the dataset can be useful for future research where bioremediation strategies using the filtration abilities of clams are focused, as background information.
