资源简介:
This Dataverse contains replication data for the study "Delegative Peacebuilding and Selective Violence After War," which investigates why social and community leaders are targeted for assassination in the aftermath of civil conflict. The individual-level dataset (assassinations_2014_2020) includes original records assassinations of social and community leaders in Colombia between 2014 and 2020, with detailed information on victim identity, location, and source. The municipal-level dataset (municipal_data) includes annual data for all Colombian municipalities across the same period, capturing variables such as leader assassinations, poverty, GDP, national transfers, coca cultivation, bombings, homicides, institutional quality, political characteristics, and implementation of peace-related development programs (PDET, OCADPaz, and PNIS). The data support a difference-in-differences research design that tests the hypothesis that delegative peacebuilding—in which the state outsources peace implementation to local leaders in weak institutional settings—can expose these leaders to greater risks of targeted violence. The R Markdown file (delegative_peacebuilding) contains all the code.
