This project aims to evaluate different locally available organic materials such as grape pomace and biochar, best suited to improve the quality of these sandy soils, enhance soil biota, and increase blueberry production. These locally available materials are otherwise burned or disposed as waste. More specifically, we are looking at impacts of different organic amendments on fungal community of soils, which are instrumental to sustainably manage soil resources to promote future cultivation.
