PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a total heat exchanging element paper that is excellent in thermal conductivity， moisture permeability， and paper strength. SOLUTION: A total heat exchanging element paper has beaten cellulose fiber， synthetic fiber and a moisture absorbent. The total heat exchanging element paper contains， as the synthetic fiber， 2-25 mass% of a sheath-core type composite fiber that has a resin with a melting point of 160°C or higher as a core component and polyethylene as a sheath component， with a fiber diameter of 6.0 μm or less.
