Dangerous Harbor Project - Lancaster County - Reel 260 - Overseers of the Poor Records, 1653-1850 - TIFFs 1-8

This dataset includes 8 TIFF files showing overseers of the poor records from Lancaster County in Virginia. They were created to record the actions of the overseers of the poor who distributed relief aid such as money, food, and clothing. These documents were collected in association with the Dangerous Harbor Project which used courthouse documents to identify escaped unfree laborers in the 17th century Chesapeake and the punishments associated with their escape. To learn more about this project, please go to the Dangerous Harbor Website.
