Super Coiled Polymers for Actuation and Sensing in Biomedical Applications

This thesis examined a novel soft robotic actuator and sensor system designed for use in laparoscopy, which comprises super-coiled polymer waveguides. Additionally, the research presented in this thesis involved the development of a biomedical sensor that consists of super-coiled polymer waveguides.
