Drosophila has provided science with exemplar cases of adaptation and innovation. A recent example is the invasive pest Drosophila suzukii (Ds), which, opposite to most other Drosophila species, lays eggs and feeds on unwounded ripening fruits. To assist in various research lines we have sequenced the genome of a F5 inbreed Ds line to a depth of 100X using Illumina (HiSeq 2000).
