Surface temperature and salinity dataset of Chinese Arctic Expedition during 1999-2021

The ocean surface is the interface for the exchange of water vapor and energy between the atmosphere and the ocean, and sea surface temperature and salinity are key factors that affect and reflect the changes in the sea air system. The observation data of ocean surface temperature and salinity during navigation is a key data for studying the water vapor and energy fluxes at the sea air interface, and is also the basic data for other marine disciplines. This study is based on the original observation data of surface temperature and salinity obtained from the investigation of the Arctic in China from 1999 to 2021. On the basis of determining the indicators and standards of data quality, the data was preprocessed including removing duplicate records, information supplementation, resampling, filling missing values, etc. Statistical methods were used to detect and remove outliers from the preprocessed data. After quality control and evaluation, a unified format dataset suitable for direct analysis was formed. This dataset can provide data support for in-depth understanding of long-term climate change in the Arctic region, studying weather change processes in the Arctic region, and correcting satellite remote sensing data.
