This dataset is a component of LUIcube, providing global land use dynamics information from 1992 to 2020 at a spatial resolution of 30 arc-seconds (~1 km). It covers area changes of 32 land use types, Net Primary Productivity (NPP) changes induced by land conversion (HANPPluc), harvested NPP with losses (HANPPharv), and residual ecosystem NPP post-harvest (NPPeco). The data layers are stored at annual time steps, and detailed descriptions are available in the accompanying research paper.

Data Content and Units
Area data: The distribution area of each land use type is expressed in square kilometers (km²/grid cell).
NPP flux data: Expressed in tons of carbon per year (tC/yr/grid cell), including HANPPharv (harvested NPP with losses), NPPeco (residual ecosystem NPP post-harvest), and HANPPluc (NPP change induced by land conversion).

Key Computational Relationships:
Actual NPP (NPPact) = NPPeco + HANPPharv

Area intensity value: Dividing NPP flux by the area of the corresponding land use type within the grid cell converts the unit to grams of carbon per square meter per year (gC/m²/yr).
