资源简介:
Batteries have an essential role in the energetic transition to answer the global energy demand increase. Lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) can now achieve high energy and power density with extended life cycle, reduced weight, fast charging, and matured technology, and are widely used in electrical vehicles. However, the movement of electrolyte during cycling lacks of understanding, and can have a significant impact on the battery degradation. X-ray diffraction computed tomography (XRD-ct) is a powerful and non-destructive technique allowing the characterization of both in the cathode and anode, and can provide a deep understanding of the structure, dynamics and degradation pathways. Coupled with X-ray fluorescence (XRF), it can reveal the mechanisms of degradation linked with the electrolyte movement during cycling. The experiment will be conducted at ID31 as this high energy beamline is well suited for XRD-ct and operando experiments.
