Prize money fund at the Cricket World Cup 2003-2023

At the 2023 Cricket World Cup, the total prize money stood at 10 million U.S. dollars. The previous two tournaments in 2015 and 2019 also had overall prize pots of 10 million U.S. dollars; however, the 2019 World Cup saw a switch to a round-robin format of 10 teams, which continued in the 2023 edition. With this format, the distribution of prize money at the Cricket World Cup meant the winner was awarded four million U.S. dollars and the runner-up received two million U.S. dollars.
