RNA-seq analysis for the effects of chromosomal inversion and translocation in Kluyveromyces marxianus

To investigate the effect of chromosomal rearrangements on gene expressions in Kluyveromyces marxianus, we constructed the pre-rearrangement strain AY-45 containing the inverted LoxP locus on Chr VIII, and the inverted strain Inv-45, we also constructed the pre-rearrangement strain AY-23 containing the LoxP locus on Chr III and Chr V, and the translocated strain Tra-23 respectively for the K. marxianus wild-type strain FIM1.We performed RNA-seq on the Inv-45 and Tra-23, as well as the pre-rearranged strains AY-45 and AY-23 respectively at the early 12h of the logarithmic growth period.
