Ocean acidification significantly alters the carbonate chemistry of seawater, leading to a decrease of seawater pH to impact the physiological and biochemical processes of those intertidal macroalgae. Previous studies have focused on the response of macroalgae to OA at thallus stage, while the effects at filamentous stage remain insufficiently explored.
