Next-generation sequencing for MHC class I genes typing reveals trans-species polymorphism in Eutropis multifasciata and other species of Scincidae

In the present study, the loci polymorphism in exon 3 of the MHC class I gene of Eutropis multifasciata was investigated using traditional cloning sequencing and next-generation sequencing to compare the effectiveness of the different analytical techniques for MHC genotyping. The genetic diversity of the MHC genes was also explored by using NGS to type the MHC genes of five other species of Scincidae and calculating their level of genetic variation.
