Microbial Diversity in Potomac River Soil. Assessing Microbial Diversity in Soil Samples Along the Potomac River: Implications for Urbanization and Environmental Health

This small-scale study examined the microbial diversity and composition of soil samples collected at various sites along the Potomac River in an urbanized area. Bacteria normal to marine soil were found along with bacterial taxa indicative of urbanization and waste runoff. The analysis revealed variations in microbial community structure and diversity between different sampling sites, indicating the impact of environmental conditions on microbial abundance and diversity.
