Introduced Species Study

Data is continually being collected until the end of this study in December 2008. For each intertidal rocky and sandy site, we recorded upcoast and downcoast latitude and longititude, low-tide time and level, rugosity, swell, dominant substrate, beach angle, beach wrack presence, sediment coarseness, and profiles of each quadrat clearing (ex. horizontal, vertical, etc). In the event that quadrats or sandy cores were placed farther apart, a separate lat/long was recorded for those quadrats and cores. We also recorded non-native species found as well as had taxonomists in the field to provide complete species lists for the site. Site notes and photos were done at each site. For each subtidal site, we recorded latitude and longitude, time searched and depth range, rugosity, dominant substrate, surge, current, sediment appearance and profiles of each quadrate clearing and sandy core taken. Site notes were taken at each site as well as photographs of quadrat clearings when visibility allowed.
