RNA-seq data of Blautia hydrogenotrophica

Bacterial strain of Blautia hydrogenotrophica S5a33 was obtained from DSMZ. The strain was grown in Wilkins Chalgren Anaerobe Broth (WC; Oxoid Ltd, Basingstoke, UK). Here we included a total of nine samples representing the different growth phases of B. hydrogenotrophica in three biological replicates for RNA sequencing, which were selected from the monoculture experiment in WC medium, with sampling time at 14h, 32h and 72h.In this study we investigated the emergence of alternative community types in the human gut microbiome. First, we obtained time-series data on growth, gene, and metabolite concentrations from a simple synthetic community composed of three key human gut microbes: Blautia hydrogenotrophica, Bacteroides thetaiotaomicron, and Roseburia intestinalis. We then encoded our empirical results into a set of mechanistic kinetic equations that accurately model the outcomes of our mono and co-culture experimental data.
