Tree inventory including structural and health attributes of urban trees

This dataset, produced within the framework of the H2020 VARCITIES project, contains detailed field measurements of urban trees in green spaces across Chania, Greece. It includes data on individual tree characteristics such as species, total height, trunk perimeter, diameter at breast height (DBH), live tree height, and crown dimensions. Each tree is geolocated with precise latitude and longitude coordinates, and observations also capture information on land use, crown health (including dieback percentage), light exposure, and the proportion of the crown that is missing. The measurements were taken within defined urban parks, contributing valuable data to assess vegetation structure, ecological health, and the role of trees in improving urban microclimates and environmental quality.
