Transcriptional regulation modulate saponin biosynthesis of Panax notoginseng response to root knot nematodes

Root knot nematodes (RKNs) are highly destructive pests that have a severe impact on the growth and quality of Panax notoginseng. However, the effect of RKN infection on the saponin content in the roots and the transcriptional regulation mechanism of saponin synthesis are not well understood. Our study aimed to investigate the expression patterns of key genes involved in saponin synthesis in RKN-infected P. notoginseng by the transcriptome analysis.
