Countywide Closest Fire Station Area

A polygon feature class of Miami-Dade County Fire Rescue Countywide Closest Fire Station Areas. The 'Countywide' name is to indicate that the whole of Miami-Dade County has been included in a Closest Station Area, including water and including the five municipalities that have their own fire department. Therefore, this layer does not accurately represent MDFR jurisdiction or responsiblity, but rather, which MDFR fire station has been designated as the closest station if they had to respond. For MDFR jurisdiction or responsiblity, please see the 'FireDistrictStationTerritory' layer. It should also be noted that CountywideClosestStationArea includes areas for fire stations that may not be manned with sufficient personnel or equipment for all types of calls. For example, at the time of this writing, station 87 is included with an area, despite the fact it is administrative headquarters. CountywideClosestStationArea should not be used for fire hydrant maintenance assignment.
