DDS2 - Dataset of patch images derived from sputum smear microscopy images for the development of bacillus detection methodsThis is a dataset of 40x40 pixels-patches extracted from digital field images of smear microscopy for tuberculosis. It contains 13,977 positive patches, with the bacillus centered in position (20,20) and 14,010 negative patches. The file name indicates if the patch is positive (S01TR1T022PP1, for example) or negative (for example, S01TR1T107NP1). This dataset was generated to enable the training, validation, and testing of algorithms for bacilli detection. DDS2 and DDS1 data sets differ in the number of patches and the fact that in DDS1 each positive patch has a mask with the bacilli segmented and in DDS2 the identification of whether the patch is positive or negative is in the file name.The folders are individually stored as tar.gz archives, for a total size of 83 MB.
