Pseudomonas sp. OIL-1 Genome sequencing and assembly. Pseudomonas sp. OIL-1

The general objective of this study is to sequence the genome and phenotypically characterize OIL-1, a marine bacterium isolate, from sea water in minimal media containing petroleum as the only carbon source. The specific objectives were to i) determine the phenotypic characteristics of the OIL-1 bacterial strain, ii) to sequence the genome of the OIL-1 bacterial strain, iii) to annotate the genome of OIL-1 bacterial strain, iv) to identify the species of OIL-1 bacterial strain and v) to evaluate the ability of OIL-1 bacterial strain to degrade oil in seawater.
