Two 1:6 model wooden houses were impacted by waves, with one on stilts. The pressure under the elevated house was analyzed with pressure gauges. The natural frequency of the houses was analyzed using accelerometers. The stiffness was analyzed using a stringpot which measures the displacement of the house and a load cell which measures the tension of a cable which pulled the house. These results can be used to predict the impact on houses during storms, which would enable improvement of legal codes.
