This dataset contains basic information on major mountain ranges, compiled from the National Forestry Statistical Compilation (1949-1987). It includes records such as names, peak elevation (m), snow line elevation (m), and glacier area (km²) for major mountain ranges under the jurisdiction of 29 provinces, autonomous regions, and centrally administered municipalities, as well as those directly under the relevant central ministry, across the country (excluding Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macao).
