Meander cutoffs measured across reaches wider than 90 m in the Amazon river basin from 1984–2021

This dataset includes meander cutoffs observed from the Amazon river basin. For each cutoff, we included the coordinates of its abandoned bend, which is represented using the Universal Transverse Mercator coordinate system, the mean width of the abandoned bend, the year of cutoff initiation, cutoff type from supervised classification, geometric characteristics of the abandoned bend, floodplain slope, variations of local discharge, and the surrounding landcover.
