DES_DR2_star_galaxy_samples

This dataset contains 60 stratified samples from the Dark Energy Survey Data Release 2 (DES DR2), covering the i-band magnitude range 18 ≤ MAG_AUTO_I < 24. Each file (result_1.txt to result_60.txt) includes 10,000 randomly selected objects with the following columns:- mag_auto_i- spread_model_i- extended_class_coadd Sampling scheme:- 18 ≤ mag_auto_i < 19.25: 10,000 objects per 0.25 magnitude bin- 19.25 ≤ mag_auto_i < 24: 5,000 objects per 0.125 magnitude bin The dataset was generated during the Ohio State University Summer Undergraduate Research Program (SURP, May–July 2024). It supports reproducibility of baseline star–galaxy separation experiments and is directly related to a manuscript prepared for submission to *Astronomy and Computing*.
