Organoids are a reliable experimental model for mimicking the cellular characteristics and architectural types of tissues or organs in vitro. Ruminants are important economic animals. The rumen is the most special digestive organ of ruminants, which can decompose lignocellulose to provide energy for animal growth. To gain a better understanding of the function of rumen epithelial cells, we developed a rumen epithelial organoid culture system.
