Red Work & Wit of the Stitch - Red Work Exhibition (2014-2015)

This collection brings together an extensive body of new textile works created for two exhibitions, Red Work in 2014 and Wit of The Stitch in 2016. Combining 19th century redwork techniques with digital printing, drawing and collaged ephemera, Howard explores new ways of communicating contemporary narratives.Red Work comprises pictorial textiles inspired by redwork quilts of 1880s America.This item contains documentation of the Red Work exhibition at the Waterside Arts Centre in Manchester, from 1 October 2014 - 31 January 2015.
