资源简介:
The Fire Product: "Real-time Detection of Fires Over Central South
America" was part of the International Geosphere-Biosphere Programme
Data and Information System (IGBP-DIS) Regional Satellite Fire Data
Compilation CD-ROM.
DSA/INPE detects vegetation fires processing AVHRR images of the
NOAA-series USA meteorological satellites. NOAA satellite altitude is
about 850 km, where a full orbit around the globe takes some 102
minutes. The orbits are almost perpendicular to the equator (98
degrees of inclination) and, as the satellite advances, a strip of
about 2,700 km is imaged. These images are received daily and
processed in real-time by DSA/INPE from 1 June until 30 November.
The data set includes:
(1) daily maps of identified fires, in the form of GIF formatted
images.
(2) geographical coordinates of the detected fires. Data have been
available since 1989. For specific requests, users need to contact
INPE (gonzalo@yabae.cptec.inpe.br).
(3) quick looks of NOAA 12 and NOAA 14 images, in the form of GIF
formatted images
