Adults in the U.S. using online dianosis and professional follow-up by age 2012

This statistic shows the percentage of U.S. adults who have looked online to diagnose a condition and those that have followed-up with a professional medical opinion in 2012 by age group. Of those surveyed adults between 30 and 49 years old, 43 percent have gone online to diagnose a condition. Of these, 55 percent had a professional follow-up. The internet has become a diagnostic tool for about one-third of adults in the United States. Women and younger adults are more likely than men to use the internet for a possible diagnosis.
