This dataset contains data collected from 12 participants, running with 7 inertial measurement units (located on lower legs, upper legs, pelvis, sternum and wrist (underneath watch)), heart rate monitor and GPS watch for three typical training sessions (Figure 1). The running protocols were done on different days and consisted of an endurance run (END), interval run (INT) and 5km sub-maximum effort (5K). Data were used to support research findings of two articles: [1] and [2].Before starting the running protocol, participants performed five forward hip bends (good mornings), five squats and, five knee flexion/extension movements (for left and right; with hip in 90 degrees flexion). Detailed explanation of the measurement protocol and equipment is given in the references [1] and [2]. The data were collected between November 2023 and January 2024.<br>[1] Scheltinga, B.
