Whole transcriptome of tobacco leaf disks infected with downy mildew

Tobacco downy mildew, also called blue mold, causes economic losses worldwide in tobacco-growing regions. There are few crop protection chemicals available for tobacco growers and chemical resistance has been reported. Whole transcriptome analysis of the obligate pathogen, Peronospora tabacina, has been limited. The objective of this project was to obtain the whole transcriptome of P. tabacina during infection of its host; leaf tissue was sampled at two time points following infiltration of mature tobacco leaves with P. tabacina spores.

烟叶霜霉病，亦称蓝霉，在全球烟草种植区域造成巨大的经济损失。针对烟草种植者的作物保护化学物质寥寥无几，且已有化学抗性现象的报道。对病原菌（义务病原体）Peronospora tabacina的整个转录组分析一直受到限制。本项目的目标是获取P. tabacina在其宿主感染过程中的整个转录组；在成熟烟叶被P. tabacina孢子侵入后，分别在两个时间点采集叶片组织样本。
