Selim Al Diner 'Chaka' Nataker Bishay Bhabna O Angik Boichitra

Selim Al Deen (1949-2008) is a renowned playwright and theater expert in Bangladesh. He has experimented for a long time to create the distinctive features of Bengali drama. He has shown his own uniqueness by adding a new style to the drama genre. The theatrical style he established is known as modern Bengali narrative drama. His plays reveal the ultimate expression of humanity towards people. Chaka (The wheel) is well-known among many such dramatic works by Selim Al Deen, where he attempts to decolonise Bengali theatre and drama through newer forms, structures and subject- matters. Contemporary political and social realities are intimately connected to the plot and character of this play. Also, by writing the play 'Chaka' (1991), he created a new genre called 'Kothanatya', which is a combination of drama, poetry, dance, songs, novels, fables, and storytelling.
