Hemolytic activity (% hemolysis^*) of the bioactive compounds that inhibit the growth of <i>B</i>. <i>cenocepacia</i> K56-2.

Hemolytic activity of each compound was determined by incubating 50, 100, 500 and 1000 μg/mL of test compound with 200 μl of a 10% RBC suspension for 1 hour at 37°C. PBS and 0.1% Triton X-100 were used as negative and positive controls respectively. A range of 10–0.5% DMSO in PBS was also used as a control. Note that MAC-0000212, MAC-0040413, MAC-0040599 and MAC-0044103, MAC-0046591, and MAC-0164811, were assayed using a range of 25–250 μg/mL, while MAC-0036650 was assayed at a range of 25–50 μg/mL. *% Hemolysis values are the average (Std Dev) of two independent experiments performed in triplicate.
