河湟谷地是青藏高原最主要的农业发展区之一,在史前时期,该区就已经有农业垦殖记录。通过整理、校正该区遗址发掘报告中记载的距今4000年的人口、耕地数据,以期为揭示青藏高原典型河谷农业区耕地变化和人类活动的基本状况提供理论依据。本数据包含河湟谷地距今4000年的耕地空间分布格局栅格数据,空间分辨率为1km×1km。距今4000年河湟谷地人口、遗址面积数据主要来自于《青海柳湾》、《首次发掘柳湾遗址》。史前粮食产量以及人均粮食消费量数据来自于《对夏商周亩产量的推测》、《中国历代粮食平均亩产量考略》、《古代中国人寿命与人均粮食占有量》等。搜集人口、遗址面积、粮食产量数据后算出史前人均需要的耕地面积,之后再利用搜集的史前遗址的人口数据推算出该区内的耕地面积,后采用网格化模型将耕地数据进行空间化。
The Hehuang Valley is one of the primary agricultural development regions on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, and agricultural reclamation records have been documented here since the prehistoric period. By sorting out and calibrating the 4000-year-before-present (BP) population and cultivated land data recorded in the excavation reports of archaeological sites in this region, this study aims to provide a theoretical basis for revealing the basic patterns of cultivated land changes and human activities in the typical valley agricultural areas of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. This dataset includes raster data of the spatial distribution pattern of cultivated land in the Hehuang Valley around 4000 BP, with a spatial resolution of 1 km × 1 km. The population and site area data of the Hehuang Valley around 4000 BP are mainly sourced from *Liuwan, Qinghai* and *First Excavation of the Liuwan Site*. Data on prehistoric grain yield and per capita grain consumption are derived from works including *Speculations on the Mu Yield of the Xia, Shang and Zhou Dynasties*, *A Study on the Average Mu Yield of Grain in All Dynasties of China*, and *Longevity and Per Capita Grain Possession of Ancient Chinese People*. After collecting the population, site area and grain yield data, the prehistoric per capita cultivated land demand was calculated. Then, the total cultivated land area in the region was estimated using the population data from the collected prehistoric sites. Finally, the cultivated land data was spatialized using a gridding model.
