Transmission electron micrograph of a representative untreated vma9 mutant cell. VMA9 encodes a subunit of the vacuolar-type H+-ATPase (V-ATPase). vma9 mutant cells contain non-spherical vacuoles at a higher rate than wildtype cells. (8,000X).
