Age-Sex-Length-Weight data for pacific herring in Prince William Sound, Alaska (1973-2014)

Data below include pacific herring age-sex-weight-length (ASWL) data and scale growth data from fishery independent sampling in Prince William Sound, Alaska. Original data are reported in the attached xlsm file, with multiple worksheets. ASWL and scale growth data have been isolated and posted here in individual tables (pwsHerrAWSL.csv, pwsHerrSclGrth.csv) based on the included R script (pwsHerrASWL.R)

Herring biomass assessment data, note that pounds, short tons and metric tons are all used depending upon the agency and type of assessment, etc. "Pound" fishery does not refer to the unit of weight, rather a "pound" is where herring are placed such that they will deposit eggs on fronds of kelp, which will then be sold.
