Treatment of S.mansoni in adult Ugandan women

Schistosoma mansoni (Sm) infection has been linked with an increased risk of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) acquisition in women. The biological mechanism underpinning this association is not clear. Therefore, this study examined the impact of standard schistosomiasis therapy on genital immunology and HIV susceptibility in Ugandan Sm+ HIV-women. The flow files included here are of cervical cytobrush samples and ficoll-extracted peripheral blood mononuclear cells.
