Results from a parameter study of a solar thermochemical water splitting plant of type R2Mx

The dataset contains results from a parameter study of a solar thermochemical water splitting plant of type R2Mx. The model is described in detail in Brendelberger, IJHE, 2024 10.1016/j.ijhydene.2024.10.050

During the parameter study 6 parameters are varied:

Cavity temperature - T_cav

Partial pressure of oxygen - p_O2

RMA radius - r_RMA

Aperture radius - r_ap

Concentration factor - C

Maximum surface fraction - eta_surf_max

The following performance metrics are derived:

Receiver efficiency - eps_rec

Receiver input power - Q_dot_rec

High temperature receiver solar thermal efficiency - eps_stht

Receiver-reactor efficiency - eps_rec_rea

Plant efficiency - eps_plant

Waste fraction - eta_waste

Optimal reduction duration - t_red_opt

Number of RMAs - n_RMA
