资源简介:
The World of Three Cultures (W3C) model (Basáñez, 2016) identified a missing middle type of culture labeled cultures of joy (COJ) arguing their predominant values are a balanced point in between the values of cultures of honor (COH) and cultures of achievement (COA).We developed three scales to measure the values underlying each type of cultural logic. In addition, we proposed behavioral scenarios instrument asking respondents to select one of three actions denoting either honor, achievement, or joy.We present instruments to measure a COJ Values Inventory (COJVI, 22 items, α = .84) including five factors (Gregariousness, Time Flexibility, Making and Maintaining Friends, Festive Dispositions, Engaging for Fun), four COH factors (Obedience/Deference, Iron Grip, Religiosity, Reputation) and three COA factors (Productivity, Initiative, & Dominance) using respective inventories.COJVI correlates with relevant variables (e.g., sociality ease and number of friends) in the direction predicted. COJVI relates to variance in friend count and general health beyond the variance explained by other established value scales. We propose three cultural values scales: COJVI, COHVI, COAVI, and a Behavioral Scenarios questionnaire that policymakers and practitioners can use to target their messages according to their audience.
