Complete Genome Sequence of a Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea Virus Isolated in Ontario, Canada, 2014

A diarrhea outbreak caused by porcine epidemic diarrhoea virus (PEDV) has been observed in Canada since winter 2014. We report here the complete genome sequence of new PEDV 20 isolate from Canada (PEDV/UG/Canada/Ontario/2014), which was isolated in 2014 from a stool swab of a nursery pig with acute diarrhea. The PEDV/UG/Canada/Ontario/2014 is closely related to the pandemic US non-S-INDEL PEDV strains. These data will contribute to our understanding of the PEDV transboundary distribution, virus evolution and its molecular epidemiology in Canada and worldwide.
