DEMONSTRATION OF MEANING TRANSFER IN MODERN EDUCATIONAL TERMS (ON THE EXAMPLE OF ENGLISH AND UZBEKISTAN LANGUAGES)

This thesis analyzes the semantic features of terms actively used in the modern education system from a linguistic point of view. The main types of meaning transfer in educational terms in English and Uzbek - metaphor, metonymy, synecdoche and functional expansion - are highlighted on the basis of examples. Also, the formation of terms, their cognitive foundations and the processes of adaptation to the national language system are studied comparatively. The results of the study show that modern educational terminology is closely related to global and national linguistic processes.
