Effect of the consumption of kombuchas from green and black teas on gut microbiota and intestinal health of Wistar rats

The objective of this project is to evaluate the effect of chronic ingestion of kombuchas from green and black teas on the gut microbiota and intestinal health of Wistar rats. Besides the feces DNA sequencing, we will evaluate colon histomorphometry, intestinal permeability, and the production of short-chain fatty acids in the feces of the animals. In addition, we will also evaluate kombucha's microbiota through metagenomic analysis of the beverages and the medium used for their production.
