NOMISMATA - Geo- and chrono-referenced database of Byzantine coin finds from archaeological contexts (498–1453).

Nomismata https://byzantine.units.it/en/ is the world's first geo- and chrono-referenced database of Byzantine coin finds. Born in 2023 from a master's thesis at the University of Trieste (Italy), provides detailed information (December 2025) about over 5,000 finds and 235,000 coins, spread over a vast geographical area that extends well beyond the borders of the Byzantine Empire. This dataset is a frozen snapshot extracted from the NOMISMATA database(https://byzantinefind.units.it/viewer.p/83/3852/types/all/geo/). It reflects the state of the database on: 2025-12-19.
