Installed nuclear capacity in Germany 1995-2020

As the German government has increased efforts to move away from nuclear energy production, capacity has declined. This was particularly noticeable in the years following the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster in 2011. By 2020, installed capacity had fallen to eight gigawatts, from over 20 gigawatts in 1995. In April 2023, the country phased-out nuclear power.
